The aim of this newsletter is to update you with the latest trends and availability of essential oils and vegetable oils. This gives you an understanding of potential causes of price fluctuations and the ongoing availability of your favourite essential oils.

Essential Oil Status Report

Ginger Oil, although the crop for Ginger was predicted to be good for this season, it is in fact reduced from last year. This is partly due to the floods in the Anhui provinces, which have destroyed a large number of crops.

Spearmint Oil, Demand has been good for this Oil recently, material at origin now appears to be short.

Geranium Oil, There has been some fluctuation with Geranium lately. It seems that the Egyptian Government are attempting to control exports and others their exchange control system.

Cassia Oil, demand remains weak for this oil, there is sufficient supply for the current demand. The autumn crop is satisfactory, however the demand is relatively weak to the lower content of the oil.

Litsea Cubeba Oil, the supply of this oil is currently sufficient. There was some carry over crop from last year although this year's crop has decreased a little.

Lavender Oil, the crops in France, Ukraine and Bulgaria have been reduced by approximately 30% due to the severe European Summer.

Cinnamon Leaf Oil, Demand for this product has been unpredictable recently.

Aniseed Oil, the recent crop in China was very good, however demand has remained weak.

Tea Tree, demand remains good increasing over the last few weeks.

Lime Oil, Production of this oil has now ceased for the season in most areas.

Rosewood Oil, There has been strong demand for this oil over the last few weeks.

Vegetable Oil Status Report

The price of vegetable oils in general remains quite firm, however there are a few oils of interest at present.

Soyabean Oil, large demands for this oil in Asia have forced the price of the material to increase.

Olive Oil, the small stocks in Spain are creating shortages for the supply of the material. The situation appears only to worsen over the next few months until next year's crop.

Evening Primrose Oil, the crop has been reduced from last year's level. At present the manufacturers have good levels of seed.
